How Long Does It Take to Become a Trader?

A question I have been asked many times is: how long does it take to become a trader? The question you should ask is: how good are you at changing? If you can make the internal changes in a year, then the answer is a year. If it takes 10 years, then that's the answer. The technical side also depends on you, but you will know 80% of the technical stuff you will use within a year if you apply yourself. So the answer is: who are you, and how willing and able are you to change?
